The\u00a0Plaque in memory of\u00a0\u201c<\/span><\/span>Claudio Mo<\/span><\/span>cch<\/span><\/span>e<\/span><\/span>gia<\/span><\/span>n<\/span><\/span>i C<\/span><\/span>arpano<\/span><\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>is the recognition reserved<\/span><\/span> to university students, who have completed, from 2023 to 2025, the best thesis on underwater archeology: research, excavation, restoration, study, history, methodologies, protection, enhancement and underwater archaeological tourism.<\/p>\n

The Plaque has been established in 2021 from the 23rd edition of the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Exchange<\/a>\u00a0in memo<\/span><\/span>ry di\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Claudio Mocch<\/span><\/span>e<\/span><\/span>g<\/span><\/span>ia<\/span><\/span>n<\/span><\/span>i C<\/span><\/span>arpano<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0considered the dean of contemporary underwater archeology for his researches on Italian lakes, rivers and seas and creator in 1986 of the STAS Technical Service for Underwater Archeology of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Graduates interested in applying must send a copy of the thesis in PDF to the e-mail\u00a0inf<\/span><\/span>o<\/span><\/span>@bmta.<\/span><\/span>it<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0or on paper to Leader srl via Roma, 226 \u2013 84121 Salerno by\u00a0September 30th, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The selection of the first classified will be communicated within 30 days of the deadline.<\/p>\n

The Plaque will be awarded on Saturday, November 1<\/span><\/span> at 13.00 at NEXT former <\/span><\/span>Ca<\/span><\/span>fasso Tobacco Factory<\/span><\/span>\u00a0on the occasion of\u00a0 the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/span>Sebastiano Tusa<\/span><\/span>\u201d\u00a0Award.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The winning thesis will be published thanks to AMG Press, editor of the monthly \u201cArcheoNews\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2024<\/span><\/strong> the Plaque has been assigned Simone Falqui<\/strong>, graduate of the Bachelor Degree in Archaeology of the University of Siena for the thesis “Tra relitti ed ancore: rendere pubblica l\u2019archeologia subacquea”.<\/p>\n

In 2023<\/strong> to: Emilia De Palo, graduate of the Master’s Degree Course in Archaeology and Ancient History of the University of Turin for her thesis in Classical Archaeology “Il Relitto tardorepubblicano della Pria Pula<\/i>\u00a0di Genova Pegli.\u00a0Una rilettura dei dati archeologici<\/span>“.<\/p>\n

In 2022 <\/strong>to:\u00a0Lucrezia Maghet<\/strong>, graduate of the Degree Course in Cultural Heritage of the University of Udine for the thesis \u201cL\u2019archeologia subacquea sul web: raccolta, analisi e lettura critica dell\u2019offerta disponibile in rete\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 2021<\/strong>\u00a0to:\u00a0Stefano Vitiello<\/strong>, graduate of the Degree Course in Archaeology: East and West of the University of Naples \u201cL\u2019Orientale\u201d for the thesis \u201cIndagini, rilievi e ipotesi sulla peschiera romana sommersa di Villa Accetta a Gaeta\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
